We got into Chapel Hill around 4:30-ish. After checking in to the Ronald McDonald House and dragging some of the equipment in, we took Miss Mac to the gigantic fish tank for her to see fish for the first time. She was trying to grab them through the glass and the fish weren't too happy about that. We have a nice size room at the RMH and fit the equipment in with no problem at all. It looks to be set up as one of their handicap accesible rooms. Andy mentioned that the smell of the house reminds him of Christmas time, since that was when we were here the first time. :o)
We took Mackenzie to the gigantic Babies R Us down by South Point. Instead of loading up her double stroller like we usually do, we just grabbed her, the suction, and the go bag and left the rest in the van. I carried her and Andy put the go bag and suction in a shopping cart. It worked out great. I do have to say Mackenzie is definitely a shoe girl. Out of all the things in BRU to reach for, it was the shoes -- and only the shoes. Colorful toys, no. Bright clothes, no. The shoes did it for her. I'm more into purses and wear flip flops year round, but hey... I can handle a shoe addict. ;o) We ended up getting her a brown pair of loafers to go with her outfit tomorrow. I forgot my digital camera at home, but I'll try to take a few good pics on my cell.
We've been taking Mackenzie off her pulse-ox more and more. As long as we're with her and watching her, chances are we would respond faster to her desatting by visual cues than waiting for the pulse-ox to go off. Plus she hasn't needed oxygen while awake and active in a fairly lengthy amount of time. We put the probe back on when she's napping and if we have to leave the room for anything... and of course anytime a nurse is there. But anway, I never quite realized how tense you can be just because of a certain noise. When Mac is awake and the alarm goes off, 99.99% of the time it's a false reading because she's wiggling around. Even though I know it's not right, I guess I must tense up from it because now that I don't hear it as often I feel more relaxed. Crazy. It also makes things a lot easier. I'm not constantly having to worry about the probe wrapping around any limbs or getting caught on things... In 11 months this is the most time she's spent being cord-free and I love it. It gives me (us) a lot to look forward to. :o)
Mackenzie's scheduled check-in time for tomorrow is 6:30am. Bright and early! I think as long as we leave here by 6 (the hospital is only a few blocks away), then all should be fine. We're not going to load up the van until things are finished and we're ready to head home.
Alrighty... time to do some cat napping. :o)

I hope your day goes well. I'll be thinking of you guys!
hope it all goes well.
good plan leaving the pushchair and stuff...we do that sometimes when there are 2 of us - it can make it easier, especially if you have trolley (cart).
