Just under 2 weeks until our Miss turns one. Oye... there were moments where I didn't think we'd get to this point. What a beautifully crazy year it's been. :o) I truly wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
We had a GI appointment in Raleigh today. It went well - more meds, change in formula... just what I was anticipating. In November we'll re-evaluate to see if she needs a nissen (stomach wrap for her reflux) as we're maxing out her meds now. I'm a little frustrated because I'm very anti-meds. It can't be healthy to be on as many meds as Mackenzie's on, and I feel like at this stage in the game we should really be focusing on weaning her off meds as opposed to throwing in more. BUT... if the meds can eliminate the need for a surgery, I suppose that's our trade off.
Anyway... bring on the family vaca!! What a wonderful weekend we have planned!!!

We are the parents of Mackenzie, a former 26 week preemie who was born September 13 of 2008, weighing 1 pound 11.5 ounces. After being diagnosed with a subglottic hemangioma three months later, Mackenzie was trached and has since proven she is anything but ordinary. Mac also has laryngomalacia, chronic lung disease (bronchopulmonary dysplasia or BPD), hypertension, biventricular hypertrophy, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and sports a MicKey Button for enteral feedings. She keeps us on our toes and ensures Mommy and Daddy remember who’s really in charge.

Congratulations on upcoming birthday! I am December mom myself and I have been reading your blog for a while.
